Laurel Bank

A trio of care homes based in Bradford are hosting a programme of activities, events and entertainment to celebrate Care Home Open Week, which takes place from 15th to 21st June.

Willow Bank, in Allerton, Laurel Bank, in Wilsden, and Acacia Bank, in Wibsey, are all owned by specialist care provider, Summit Care Group.

Designed to connect care teams across the country with their local communities and to showcase the services on offer, Care Home Open Week is this year embracing the summer of sport with a World Cup theme.

As part of the event, 59-bed Willow Bank will be hosting a Fun Day on Wednesday 17th June. Beginning at 10am, the morning will include a mini sports day with football games and activities, followed by an afternoon tea at 2pm.

Laurel Bank, which has 63 ensuite bedrooms, will also be holding events throughout Thursday 18th June. Planned activities include the Laurel Bank Sports Day and penalty shootout, which is open to both residents and the public to join and will be taking place from 10am – 2pm, as well as a garden party and afternoon tea from 2pm onwards. Residents, staff, families and other guests are all encouraged to wear a football shirt of their choice.

Meanwhile, 56-bed Acacia Bank will be holding a World Cup Garden Party on Saturday 20th June from 2pm onwards, where guests will have the opportunity to meet the team and enjoy live entertainment, refreshments and a barbeque.

Bernie Suresparan, founder and CEO of Summit Care Group, said: “Care Home Open Week is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local communities and showcase the excellent services and support we have on offer. We know finding the right care home for a loved one can be daunting for families, so giving them the chance to come and see what our homes are all about in a relaxed, fun environment is a great way to ease them in.

“Willow Bank, Laurel Bank and Acacia Bank all have an exciting programme of activities lined up for residents, families and locals to get involved in, and we’d love to see as many people as possible there. It’s going to be a brilliant week to make lots of memories.”
