Collaborative Book to Be Launched in Belfast Ahead of International Women’s Day to Support Survivors of Domestic Abuse
A powerful new book, Handbags: Turning Hope into Happiness, will officially launch at WE Believe 2025, an event marking International Women’s Day on 6 and 7 March that has gathered global attention for its commitment to accelerating action for women in business and beyond.
Taking place at the Assembly Buildings in Belfast, the launch is part of an event hosted by Mums in Business International (MIB International) in partnership with Hopefull Handbags Global NonProfit. This moving collection shares the deeply personal stories of twelve women who have faced adversity, found strength, and emerged stronger. More than just a book, it stands as a testament to resilience, courage, and transformation, reminding readers that they are never alone, and that hope is always within reach.
Beyond raising awareness, Handbags: Turning Hope into Happiness will generate funds to support survivors of domestic abuse, with proceeds going directly to Hopefull Handbags Global NonProfit, a charity dedicated to breaking cycles of abuse and hardship.
Leona Burton, CEO of Mums in Business International, says, “This project is more than words on a page, it’s a turning point for change. These incredible women have shared their stories not only to heal themselves but also to inspire others to rise above their circumstances and step into their own power. The book’s launch at WE Believe 2025 is the perfect setting to celebrate women’s resilience and the incredible strength found in community and collaboration. We hope women will join us for both days, one day, or live online to experience the power when WE Believe, while also contributing to meaningful change in the world.”
Aisling Owens Nash, event host and Head of Hopefull Handbags Global NonProfit for Ireland, adds, “WE Believe 2025 is about empowering women to thrive both personally and professionally, and this book is a powerful part of that mission. Every story in Handbags reminds us that hope, strength, and support can change lives, and it reflects our commitment to taking real action to break cycles of abuse and hardship.”
Leona concludes, “As women from around the world connection in Belfast for WE Believe 2025, this book launch serves as a call to action to share, support, and stand together. Handbags: Turning Hope into Happiness aims to encourage readers to embrace their own strength and recognise the collective power to create meaningful change.”
The book will be available for purchase at WE Believe 2025 and on Amazon at https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DXMZXS6C, with all profits supporting Hopefull Handbags Global NonProfit.
