Travel Made Possible for Gail and Paul

bloomingfifties

Gail and her brother Paul, who is a wheelchair user, and their partners flew from their home in Sydney, Australia, to the UK. Upon landing at Heathrow, they picked up an accessible van to embark on a self-driven tour of the UK and Ireland.

With the guidance of Journey Angels, the group explored an itinerary filled with hidden gems, unfamiliar landmarks, breathtaking scenery and stunning beaches – even destinations they hadn’t known existed.

Janine, Founder and Director of Journey Angels, joined the trip in the seaside town of Blackpool, where they spent a full day and night exploring, before travelling on to the historical city of York.

Gail said, “Janine’s extensive travel experience and fun energy were a welcome addition to our group as we took in all the sights, explored the cathedral and went on a night river cruise.”

Back in London, Janine arranged a day trip to Greenwich, travelling by ferry on the Thames.  They saw all the picturesque sites, including where Thor was filmed and had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to the Prime Meridian.

In the following days, the group also attended the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, explored Southbank, rode the London Eye and sampled an array of cuisines along the way.  Janine’s understanding of the group’s varying dietary requirements, her research on nearby restaurants and providing her top three recommendations made for easy and stress-free decision making.

Throughout the trip, Janine was proactive in finding nearby accessible toilets, cafes and restaurants, and ensured the group were fast-tracked through queues, purchasing tickets in advance and advising staff they required wheelchair access.

Gail adds, “We cannot thank Journey Angels enough. Janine’s expertise, knowledge and company were second to none. I highly recommend having the additional support and companionship of Journey Angels, and I will be calling upon them to assist us on our next adventure.”
