Six-week study of 53 women highlights strong gains in hydration, radiance and skin confidence

Dr Menopause today released new consumer trial results showing that 94% of women reported intensive moisturisation after using its daytime skincare routine – with over nine in ten also seeing improvements in hydration, radiance and overall skin health.

The independent six-week trial followed 53 women across the UK experiencing menopausal skin changes. Each women used the brand’s Brighten Up Radiance Serum and Hydrate Me Day Moisturiser daily, alongside the Refresh Me Facial Mist throughout the day.

Hydration emerged as the standout benefit with 94% of participants agreeing the day cream intensively moisturises the skin and the same number saying the products help lock in moisture.

After six weeks of consistent use, 49 of the 53 women reported their skin felt hydrated for up to eight hours, while 89% of the focus group said their skin stayed hydrated throughout the day. Participants also reported a visible reduction in dryness.

Alongside hydration, the trial demonstrated strong improvements in ‘radiance’ and overall skin appearance. A total of 87% of women said their skin appeared brighter and more glowing after using the serum, while 92% reported reduced dullness and a more luminous complexion.

Skin tone also improved, with 92% saying their complexion appeared more even. One participant noted: “My skin looks 90% better than it did before using these products.”

Dr Menopause skin and haircare range launched via its webshop in October and is growing a steady following in the beauty social space, reaching dedicated online shoppers. Speaking about how the results showcase the brands potential, founder and beauty expert, Vikki Lee said:

“There’s a long-standing perception that you must spend more to see real results in skincare, but this trial shows that isn’t the case. What we’re seeing here is clinically backed performance across hydration, radiance and skin confidence, delivered at an accessible price point.

“Menopausal skin is often misunderstood, with many women experiencing sudden dryness, sensitivity and loss of radiance without knowing where to turn. For us, it’s about changing that. Creating targeted skincare that genuinely works, without forcing women to compromise between efficacy and affordability. Seeing over 90% of women say they would recommend the products and continue using them really reinforces the value the range delivers.”

The trials also showed that the skincare routine from Dr Menopause delivered on skin comfort and resilience, and calmer skin.

The Refresh Me Facial Mist proved particularly popular among the panel of participants, with 96% agreeing it instantly refreshes and cools the skin, and 94% saying it provides a moisture boost throughout the day.

Crucially for retailers, the trial demonstrated high levels of advocacy and long-term usage intent. A total of 92% of participants said they would recommend the products to a friend, while 91% said they would continue using the routine beyond the trial.

The products also integrated seamlessly into daily routines, with 92% agreeing the day cream provides a great base for makeup.

Vikki Lee, added: “What’s particularly powerful is the level of recommendation; for years, menopause solutions have been driven by peer-to-peer conversations, so to see over 90% of women say they would recommend the products really speaks volumes about the results and trust the range is building.”

Dr Menopause was created to address the specific and often overlooked needs of menopausal skin, offering targeted formulations designed to support hydration, barrier repair and skin resilience during hormonal change.

The UK-based brand focuses on tackling common menopause-related concerns including dryness, sensitivity, dullness and loss of firmness, combining active ingredients with gentle, skin-supportive formulations.

The results reflect a wider shift within the beauty category, as menopause continues to drive demand for targeted, life-stage skincare solutions. With over 13 million women in the UK experiencing menopause, brands that can demonstrate both clinical efficacy and emotional impact are increasingly resonating with consumers and retailers alike.
